Forever Bambù and FIBOO present the first 95% natural bamboo insulation panel. A breakthrough for European green building: sustainability, high performance, and captured CO₂ for the building's entire lifespan

Forever Bambù, an Italian benefit corporation active in giant bamboo cultivation, and the French company FIBOO, specialized in innovative low-impact materials, have created a joint venture that marks a turning point in the sector: the first insulation panel composed of 95% natural and traceable bamboo fiber.
Unveiled in Lille, the new material combines high technical performance with environmental sustainability. From cultivation to finished product, the supply chain is renewable: bamboo canes from Forever Bambù’s Italian forests become raw material for insulation panels that permanently store CO₂ throughout the building’s entire lifecycle.
This innovation aims to overcome the limitations of traditional materials—such as polystyrene or fiberglass—in terms of environmental impact and disposal. Bamboo, instead, offers a natural, regenerative, and high-performing solution: it’s breathable, moisture-resistant, and guarantees thermal and acoustic insulation among the best on the market.
With a density of 50 kg/m³ (3.1 lbs/ft³) and a thermal capacity exceeding 2000 J/kgK, the panels ensure cool environments in summer and comfortable spaces in winter. Their A+ health class contributes to improving indoor air quality, making homes healthier without compromising energy efficiency.
Beyond technical performance, the environmental value is remarkable: each panel preserves the CO₂ absorbed by bamboo during growth, transforming construction into a tool for climate mitigation. “Bamboo is not only an extraordinary crop for capturing CO₂, but also an ally for building healthier and more sustainable buildings,” explained Mauro Lajo, CEO of Forever Bambù, in a statement.
For Pierre Vion, general director of FIBOO, the partnership “represents a step forward toward circular, high-performance construction capable of making European cities more comfortable and environmentally respectful.”
The project will be officially presented on October 17 in Lille, in the presence of French Housing Minister Valérie Létard and Italian and French institutional representatives.
From Italian forests to European construction sites, bamboo is positioning itself as the symbol material of new sustainable building, capable of uniting innovation, environmental responsibility, and living comfort.
